Inkberrow guides need new volunteers

THE 1st Inkberrow Guides is looking for someone to take over the unit later this year.

Next year the group will celebrate its 50th anniversary and has a long history of inspiring girls and women.

But the current unit leader, Sam Gisborne, is moving on as the teacher has accepted a new role in Wiltshire.

Now the unit is seeking someone to take over the role.

Miss Gisborne said: "Our unit is thriving, we have nearly 30 guides and young leaders, aged 10 to 14. We do lots of exciting things, from camping and cooking on wood, to first aid and crafts.

"There is something to suit every girl and leader."

Anyone who takes over the role would receive full support and Miss Gisborne says she welcomes anybody who is interested to come along to a meeting.

She added: "Volunteering with girlguiding is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the community and looks great on CVs.

"You will learn new skills and meet a variety of people. Anyone who is 18 plus can be a leader, no previous experience is needed."

For more information, or if anyone is interested, contact Miss Gisborne on samguides@gmail.com.
