ACTION being taken to solve problems at a Redditch centre will be the focus of a Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting this May.

Winyates PACT will meet in the Space at the Winyates Centre when panel members will report on what is being done to address the priority concerns raised by residents.

The issues all related to the Winyates Centre with complaints about the poor condition of the tarmac surface there, anti-social behaviour near the craft centre and CCTV being in need of repair. The meeting will also be an opportunity for people to highlight any new problems.

The meeting is being held 7pm on Wednesday, May 7.

On Tuesday, May 6, Matchborough PACT meets in the Matchborough Centre at 7pm when updates will be given on its current priorities.

These concern complaints about traffic using a path between Allensmore Close and the A435 as a cut-through; an H-bar in Frankton Close blocking access for people with disabilities; and youths causing a nuisance by playing soccer in Harbury Close.

Community Support Officer Jen Blackburn said: “PACT meetings are your opportunity to say what you want done to improve the quality of life in your area – and our opportunity to tell you exactly what we are doing to achieve that.

“The panel is made up of representatives from the police, council and other agencies who are in a position to get things done and that’s why PACT has been so successful in solving numerous local issues over the years.”
