Help on Rocky's road to recovery
8:50am Saturday 26th April 2014 in News
SUPPORT is desperately needed by an animal rescue centre which has to find thousands of pounds to help an injured puppy.
Rocky, a 12-week-old cross Staffordshire bull terrier, has been taken in by Wythall Animal Sanctuary, a non-destruction animal rescue centre which has been established in the area for approximately 50 years.
Rocky's owners took him to the centre, saying they could not afford to pay the vet's bills to heal his leg, which was broken in two places, so the sanctuary immediately agreed to give him a home, and to get him the treatment he needed.
His vet bills have so far cost the charity more than £1,500 and that cost is rising as his necessary treatment continues.
A centre spokesman said: "We are appealing for funds from the public to help our charity fund his ongoing treatment.
"The high cost of vet bills is becoming a very serious concern and causing a lot of people to struggle or even part with their much loved pets."
Anyone who would like to make a donation to the sanctuary can call the manager Alison Cookson on 01564 823288, email her at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit wythallanimalsanctuary.org.uk.
