1940's pin-up comes to Alcester
4:00pm Saturday 26th April 2014 in News
THOSE wanting to travel back in time are being invited to a 1940's street market taster in Alcester where they can meet the irresistible 40s pin-up model Miss Kitten Von Mew.
Alcester Court Leet is organising the day which will take place at Alcester Town Hall on Saturday, May 3 from 2pm to 5pm.
Kitten Von Mew works as a 1940s pin-up model, visiting Second World War nostalgia events around the country. She has a live set of 1940s songs that were originally sung by the likes of Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields and her retro clothes and hair mean she always looks the part.
Her costumes are specially made for her routines and include a RAF fancy with corset, and a ‘Garrison Girl' outfit made from an ATS jacket, along with many more.
She said: "I am so looking forward to the street market. It will be such a lovely day with lots to see and do. The committee have been fabulously supportive and it is great that there are more local 40's themed events this year.
"I cannot wait to see what is in store and I hope that people will get into the spirit of the occasion and dress up."
The will be 1940s clothing for sale, hair styling demonstrations, free dance lessons between 3 and 4pm as well as tea and biscuits.
Entrance costs £2.50 on the door.
