POLICE investigating a serious sexual assault in Redditch are appealing to a couple who may have spoken to the victim to come forward.

The assault happened in Arrow Valley Park in Redditch between 7pm and 8pm Saturday, April 19.

Following the assault the victim, a 30-year-old local woman, was walking along Old Forge Drive at around 11pm when she saw a man and a woman walking their dog.

Detective Inspector Stuart Murphy said: “I’d like to emphasise that this couple are not in any trouble but their assistance could help with our investigation and I’d urge them to contact us as soon as possible.

“A thorough investigation is underway and we are doing all we can to support the victim and find the man responsible so that he can be brought to justice.” 

Police are also eager to speak to a man who was seen in the park at around the time of the incident.

He was sat on a bench talking on a mobile phone. He was described as white and in his 30s. He was wearing a baseball cap and was smoking.

He’s believed to have a Slovakian accent.

These three people, and anyone else who was in the area yesterday evening, are asked to call West Mercia Police on 101.
