YOUNGSTERS looking for something fun to do during the Easter break are in luck.

Staff at Redditch Skatepark, one of the lagest outdoor supervised skatepark and youth facilities in the UK, have been busy over the winter getting the skatepark ready for an action packed 2014.

It is open throughout the remainder of the Easter holidays for general use seven days a week (costing £3.50) including Easter Sunday and this Monday, April 21 from noon to 8pm.

A number of special sessions, Pozitive Activities Zone (PAZ), have been planned which enables young people aged 12 to 19 to access the Skatepark for just 50p every Monday and Tuesday 2pm to 8pm.

This includes BMX, Skateboard and Scooter hire and the sessions welcome beginners and riders of all abilities.

The Redditch Wheels Project manages Redditch Skatepark and the charity has proven successful in keeping thousands of young people off the streets providing them with healthy recreational activities.

A spokesman said: "The skatepark offers a lifestyle change by providing diversionary activities such as Skateboarding, BMX and inline Skating giving young people somewhere to go and something to do to help keep young people out of trouble.

"From our past results some young people will gain not only amazing riding skills and compete in national events but make a positive contribution to the skatepark by being involved in the management committee, ramp design and event organisation.

"The Skatepark is also visited by many people from all over the UK and even abroad. It is a big hit on the UK BMX scene where you can often see high profile riders that drop by for a session with local young people, even filming their edits for their sponsors."
