Youngsters urged to put on their running shoes
12:00pm Wednesday 9th April 2014 in News
YOUNGSTERS interested in running can now pop down to the Abbey Stadium and burn off some energy at a new club.
Children aged between 11 and 16 can join the group, which starts on a weekly basis from Wednesday , April 29, to hone their running skills.
The group will be led by a Level 3 qualified athletics coach who will train members for varying distances on the track and once established try out some road running too.
John Godwin, head of leisure and cultural services, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn the disciplines and techniques involved in running from a fully qualified instructor.
"If your child loves to run, no matter what their level of ability, send them along and help them to improve their skills."
The sessions will last for one hour from 5pm to 6pm and costs £2.
Numbers are limited, so places must be booked in advance. To book a place or for more information contact Matt Hartles on 01527 587028 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
