WORK to transform a once historic mansion in Redditch into apartments and office space is continuing.

Ipsley Court was the site of a 16th-century country house, originally built for Sir John Huband, but much altered in the 18th and 20th centuries – the Manor of Ipsley was held by the Huband family from Norman times.

In the early 1980s a new highly quality office building was constructed which became home to The Law Society for many years.

The Grade II Listed office element, the oldest part of the original Great House, was recently acquired by a local private investor from Elegant Developments which are masterminding the apartment side.

It comprises Ipsley Court and Ipsley Barn.

Ian Parker, from property agents John Truslove which is marketing the office suites, said: "Various original features have been retained to include exposed oak beams within the north wing and original dog-leg staircase with large turned balusters and moulded handrail.

“This is a prestige location amidst gorgeous surroundings. We are expecting plenty of interest.”

Both wings have been divided into two separate office suites each with separate WCs and kitchenettes.

He confirmed that Knights Pharmacy, established in 1984, is set to move its head office there.

The apartment side is moving on a pace, with a total of 39 mostly two-bed apartments envisaged.
