A NUMBER of families from across Redditch can now benefit from four family learning sessions being held between April and July.

Families in receipt of benefits or where parents/guardians have not attained basic qualifications in English or maths can now take part in four specially designed family learning sessions at Forge Mill.

Families can drop in between noon and 3.30pm on April 27 for Illusion & Magic with Magic Bob, May 25 to Meet an owl, June 22 for Fabric Fun and July 13 for Night, Night Mrs Ladybird.

The sessions are suitable for families with children aged between six and 11 and are designed to encourage learning within the family group in a fun and interactive way.

Gillian Crawley, museum and visitor centre manager, said: “It is important for children to learn within a family group and they’re more inclined to absorb information if it is presented in a fun, friendly and interactive environment.

“These sessions really could benefit a number of families so if you think you might qualify and want to give your child a boost to their learning, sign up and come along.”

The sessions will subliminally teach children a number of things including improving their confidence and social awareness, the importance of the environment and ecology and design and maths skills.
All four sessions are free to attend and include all tuition and materials, subject to eligibility.
