THE new Maple View Medical Practice has officially opened in the Church Hill Neighbourhood Centre and is ready to welcome patients.
Located on Tanhouse Lane, Redditch, the medical practice sits alongside a pharmacy, dental practice and retail outlets in the £2.4 million centre, which was completed last year.
Amanda Roddy, development manager at Assura Group, which helped deliver the project, said: “Developing advanced frontline facilities is a vital step towards reducing the strain on hospitals and improving the overall health service.
"We look forward to the valuable impact that the new resources will have on delivering treatment in the area.”
Andy Sewards, director at contractor G F Tomlinson, added: “The new building has been completed to the very highest standards with traditional brickwork but also the latest energy saving features.
“This is a scheme which will enhance the facilities available to local people and provide a real boost for the community in Redditch.”
Catherine McGregor, principal GP at the practice, said that she hoped the new facilities would allow the practice to offer a wider range of services to patients.
A bead table to help keep children entertained while waiting to see the doctor was donated by G F Tomlinson.
