A MAN driving his car outside Coughton Court was robbed after being flashed to stop by another motorist that was following him.

On Monday, March 24 between 9.30-9.45pm a 51-year-old man was driving a Landrover Freelander towards Alcester on the A435, and as he passed Coughton Court he was flashed by a light coloured VW Golf behind him.

He pulled into a layby and was approached by two men from the Golf who pointed to the rear of his vehicle.

When he got out of the car, one of the men grabbed him round the shoulders and the other removed his wallet from his front pocket. They made off with a large amount of cash and some bank cards.

One of the offenders is described as being 5ft 10ins tall with short dark hair, a wiry build and wearing white track suit bottoms and a dark coloured top. The second is described as a stocky male wearing a black three quarter length leather jacket and a woolly hat.

One of the men spoke with an Eastern European accent.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Coughton layby, saw either of the vehicles as they travelled along the A435 and beyond, or has any other information which would help them with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 and ask for CID at Leamington, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.
