TWO Redditch community groups came together recently when 1st Matchborough Cub Scouts were looking for a sport theme for a Sport Relief sleepover.

Redditch Community Amateur Boxing Club kindly agreed to put on a taster session for the cubs and scouts in the former of a boxing and fitness session.

Up-and-coming boxer Kane Baker, who is also about to start his A.B.A coaching badges, provided a class filled with fun, fitness and basic boxing techniques for the keen young scouting group.

Afterwards the cubs enjoyed more games and a film back at their Scout HQ.

A  cub spokesman said: "1st Matchborough would like to say a massive thank you to the boxing club for giving the youngsters this great opportunity and helping out with the Sport Relief theme."

First Ipsley Rainbows in Redditch managed to donate £20 to Sports Relief after an impromptu decision by the girls at their meeting on Friday.

After some had already taken part in sports activities during the day, they still found the energy to run around the grassed area at the meeting venue, followed by team running, hopping and skipping events.
