CHILDREN from a nursery in Alcester have been busy filling trollies for the Arden Foodbank.

The youngsters, from Alcester Nursery Studio in St Faith’s Road, filled two trollies with donations of food in just one week.

All of the supplies collected have been handed to the Arden Foodbank, providing emergency food for local people in need.

Debi French, manager at Alcester Nursery Studio, said the team were keen to help.

“As a community nursery we think it is important for the children to help and understand others less fortunate than themselves in our community.

“Waitrose were kind enough to lend us a trolley to fill and transport the donated food – the children were so enthusiastic and their parents very generous.”

Foodbank vouchers can be exchanged for emergency food packages when the foodbank is open; between 2-3.30pm on Fridays at Alcester Methodist Church, and on Tuesdays at Studley Methodist Church.

Donations can be taken to the foodbank, with items such as UHT milk, fruit juice, pasta, cereals, tinned goods, tea, coffee and sugar top if the shopping list.
