IT was a delicious day out in Alcester for those skilled enough to run in the town's annual Pancake Day races.
A tradition dating back more than 100 years, Alcester's Court Leet welcomed record numbers of participants to the event, which included races for nursery, junior and senior schools as well as a relay race for Alcester pubs and businesses.
High Bailiff of Alcester Steven Brown said the event was exceptionally well attended and everyone involved had a great time.
"We were lucky the weather was so good," he said. "We had 20 races and there were 10 people in each race so overall we made 200 pancakes. We also had a lot of Easter Eggs to give out as prizes."
