DURUING Health Questions in the House of Commons Redditch MP Karen Lumley asked Health Minister Dr Daniel Poulter to meet with her to discuss the future of maternity services at the Alexandra Hospital.

Praising The MP’s long and distinguished record on campaigning for services at the hospital, the minister said he would be delighted to meet with her, adding that her constituents should be proud of her work on the issue.

Mrs Lumley said: “I was pleased that Dr Poulter agreed to meet with me to discuss maternity care at the Alex. We need to ensure that children continue to be born in Redditch and that mums can feel confident that it’s safe to have their children delivered at the Alex."

She added that she will not stop campaigning until residents have a guarantee that the services they need will remain in Redditch.
