TWO men had to be taken to hospital on Thursday, February 20 after the car they were travelling in was involved in a collision on the A46 near Alcester.

The incident occurred just after midnight when a yellow MG saloon collided with a concrete barrier on Red Hill. Police arrived at the scene to discover that the car had travelled down the embankment and overturned.

The 23-year-old man driving the car suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, while a 21-year-old male passenger also had to be taken to the same hospital with suspected head and spinal injuries.

Police closed the A46 between the roundabout at Oversley Green and the roundabout at the Wildmoor Spa and Health Club while emergency crews and accident investigators worked at the scene, and in order to remove debris from the broken barrier. The road reopened on Friday morning.
