A BURGLARY case has been officially closed after the accused man was found hanged at HMP Hewell, between Redditch and Bromsgrove.

Jamie Oliver, also known as Jamie Manning, aged 33, was found on November 14 last year, Charles Hamer, acting on his behalf in the proceedings, told Worcester Crown Court.

He was born in Redditch but his address was given as HMP Hewell in Tardebigge and he had been committed for trial at crown court for burglary.

An investigation had concluded that he committed suicide by hanging, Mr Hamer said. He presented a death certificate to the court.

Recorder Chris Bright, QC, said it was tragic when anyone felt driven to take their own life and the court process marked the end of the case.
