MEMBERS of 2nd Studley (St Mary's) Brownies recently rose to the challenge of raising money to donate to Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.
Marleen Watson, from the charity, recently visited the girls with her hearing dog, Grace.
The girls held a sponsored silence and believe they have raised an estimated £200, which can be used towards sponsoring a puppy.
The Brownies have been working towards their communication badge in the Big Brownie 100 celebration year. They have learnt to sign their names, and the Brownie promise, with British Sign Language.
They have been code cracking and sending messages by semaphore, and holding mock radio interviews with former Brownies from the 60s and 70s.
