A POLICE car was rammed by a stolen vehicle on Friday, February 7.

The black Land Rover Defender, registration number KU02 CHL, was stolen from a drive in Bittell Road, Barnt Green, at about 4am.

It was spotted in Packhorse Lane, Wythall, by officers in a marked BMW police car at about 4.30am.

It pulled into a driveway in nearby Middle Lane and tried to turn around but was blocked in by the police car, which it then rammed out of the way and made off.

The two officers in the vehicle were shaken but not injured. However it is believed the police car was written off.

The driver was described as a white man with dark hair.

Chief Inspector Richard Langton of West Mercia Police said: “The stolen vehicle deliberately collided with the marked police vehicle, which was blocking its path, in order to allow escape.

“Fortunately neither officer was injured, but we are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has seen the stolen vehicle since or knows where it is now to contact us.”
