THE Feckenham Forest History Society is publishing a new annual local history magazine called The Feckenham Forester.

Priced at £3.50, it contains articles about the history of the Redditch, Feckenham and Inkberrow areas.

Topics in the first issue include a Redditch riot, a Redditch murder, the history of the White Hart pub and also the story that Shakespeare's skull may lurk in the vault of a local church.

The launch of the magazine will take place at the society's next meeting at 7.30p.m on Tuesday, February 11 at Feckenham Village Hall.

The magazine's editor, Dr. Richard Churchley, will be giving an illustrated talk that night on local farmhouses and their stories - including two more murders. There will also be a display about farming in the area.

Non-members are welcome at all the society's monthly meetings. See feckenham-forest-history-society.org.uk for more details.

After the meeting the magazine will also be on sale in various local shops including ASAP Printing, Birchfield Road, Headless Cross. For more details about the magazine contact Dr Churchley on 01527 892361 or email rachurchley@totalise.co.uk.
