POLICE want help from the public to identify a man who indecently exposed himself to a woman on a Redditch footpath.

The woman, who is in her 50s, was walking by the old park off Upper Field Close towards the Church Hill Centre at 7am on Monday, January 27 when it happened.

She challenged the man after he appeared from behind a wall and then she ran from the scene. It is not known where the man went.

He is described as white, possibly in his 30s, around 6ft tall, slim and wearing a dark hooded top, dark coloured trousers and dark trainers

PC Stephen Woodman said: “The woman was quite shaken up by this and it was a very unpleasant experience for her. It may well be that someone else saw this man in that area beforehand or leaving afterwards.

“If you have any information about where he went or any idea about his identity then please call us at the earliest opportunity.”

Police have stepped up high visibility patrols in the area to provide reassurance and act as a deterrent.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Woodman at Redditch Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference 63-S-270114. Details may also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
