POLICE are warning people not to take medication they don't require after insulin was stolen from a Tardebigge prison's car park.

The incident happened at HMP Hewell, in Hewell Lane, between 2.30pm and 4pm on Sunday, January 26.

Both of the vehicles had windows smashed in the incident.

Two medical epi-pens, one silver and one blue, were taken from a Chevrolet Orlando, along with a large black leather handbag, a quantity of cash, a white Apple iPhone 4 in a pink case worth £180, and a Blackberry touch screen worth £400.

A quantity of cash, a backpack with a picture of Elvis Presley riding a motorcycle, and 200 CDs were taken from the other vehicle - a Vauxhall Insignia.

PC Damian Elcock, of West Mercia Police, said: “Our concern is that the insulin within the epi-pens would be dangerous if taken by any person not requiring it.

“Anyone who finds them is asked to take them to a hospital, medical centre, or pharmacy, where they can be safely disposed of. Any person who has taken insulin or any other medication not prescribed for them is urged to seek urgent medical attention.”

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Elcock on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 405-s-260114.
