APPROXIMATELY 60 more Winyates residents are now able to recycle as part of a number of works designed to improve the area.
Winslow Close residents are now able to recycle more efficiently thanks to brand new bin stores being installed by Redditch Council earlier this month.
The new stores now provide residents with the correct bin capacities to enable them to dispose of their waste correctly and are in a better position for ease of access. The new design is intended to encourage residents to recycle which will mean less rubbish going to landfill in the long run.
The redesign of the bin stores is part of a larger project which will also see footpath and security improvements in the area.
Guy Revans, head of environmental services, said: “The new arrangements give residents the opportunity to recycle their waste where they were previously unable to. The location of the old bins meant that they were hidden and hard to get to which in turn lead to some cases of fly tipping.
"The new design now means the area is clean, tidy and in line to contribute to higher recycling figures for the borough.”
Further improvements to Winslow Close are continuing over the next few weeks.
