A RECORD store set up to support young people not currently in employment or education, will be coming to Redditch.

Death or Glory Records, a community interest company, is set to open on Kingfisher Walk in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

It will specialise in vinyl and CDs as well as music merchandise.

The store will have a special area for local bands who will be able to sell their music, and a through a partnership with NEW College, a permanent gallery for art students to display and sell their work.

Any profits made by the store will go toward helping support young people by offering them work experience as well as helping support local bands and artists.

A spokesman from the store said: "First and foremost we are a record shop. Like all music lovers we respect the hard work musicians put into their records.

"So own it, hold it, smell it, play it and love every second of it as you watch it on the turn table. Most importantly buy it from your local independent record shop.

"We wanted to be different from the rest and do what is close to our hearts: help and support people. We aim to do this in many ways, some will be apparent from looking around the shop, others are more subtle but are just as important.

"We are very passionate about supporting local talent whether that be photography, art or music."

Death or Glory Records is due to open in the next few weeks.
