Spate of burglaries in Redditch

INFORMATION is sought about three burglaries and an attempted burglary in Redditch.

One of the burglaries and the attempted burglary happened at neighbouring properties in Forge Mill Road, Riverside, on Friday, January 10.

Offenders got into the rear garden of one house between 2.30pm and 11.30pm and forced French doors causing £1,500 damage. They also caused a further £400 damage to a wooden bureau.

Items stolen included a fake man’s Rolex white metal watch worth £20, a ring which is described as having an oval shaped sapphire with gold bands across and was worth £850, gold earrings in the shape of a cahow seabird, which is the national bird of Bermuda and worth £100, along with four pairs of yellow metal earrings worth £40.

The ring and bird earrings are unique and of very sentimental value.

The attempted burglary at the neighbouring house happened between 3.30pm and 5.30pm. The offenders caused £50 damage to a fence and £1,500 damage to a rear door but failed to get in.

Another burglary happened in Atcham Close, Winyates East, between 11pm on Sunday, January 12 and 7.15am on Monday, January, 13, when offenders went into the garage and took a Eastern BMX frame, which was white and had custom parts and was worth £250, a Blunt trick scooter which had a purple deck and bars and pink grips, and worth £150, and a Madd Gear Pro scooter deck, which was just the base with no handles, and was blue, green and white, worth £130.

The other burglary was in Clent Avenue, Headless Cross, between 1.30pm and 5.30pm on Friday, January 10 when jewellery and jewellery were taken. Police have no further details of the stolen property.
