TWO youths were arrested after a robbery on Wednesday, January 8 at a Redditch off-licence, during which a pellet gun was discharged.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident at the TCL off-licence in Evesham Road at about 9pm when two males with their faces covered walked in and confronted the proprietor who was alone.

He was threatened and a pellet gun was discharged by one of the robbers although no-one was injured.

The robbers fled on foot with property including cigarettes and alcohol, some of which has now been recovered.

Redditch CID swiftly launched a full investigation after the alarm was raised and that led to the arrest the same night of two 15-year-olds in the Redditch area on suspicion of robbery.

They were taken into custody at a police station in North Worcestershire.

Detective Constable Jordan Baker said: “Our officers have been conducting door to door inquiries in the area and we are also visiting other local traders to provide reassurance.

“Early arrests have been made in this case following some good police work but it is vital we speak to anyone who may have seen the robbers entering or fleeing from the store on foot on Wednesday night.

"If you saw or heard anything, or think you know something that could help our investigation, then please get in touch without delay.”
