Neighbours help rescue people from Redditch house fire

NEIGHBOURS staged a dramatic rescue after three people became trapped in a Redditch house fire.

The incident happened at a property in Meadowhill Road, Riverside, at 7.15am this morning.

Quick thinking residents nearby used a ladder to rescue two people from the home while fire crews rushed to the scene.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus then rescued a third person from the burning building before extinguishing the blaze, which started in the home's kitchen area.

All three people were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
