WORK to support sport clubs and organisations in Redditch is continuing as Redditch Council hosts another free workshop.

As part of the next Redditch Sports Forum, Sport England’s Club leaders will be delivering a free workshop around business essentials designed specifically for sports clubs.

The workshop will cover what a business plan is and why it is useful to have one; who should be involved in creating it; how to develop a plan using a simple framework; practical advice on what to include, how to structure it and pitfalls to avoid and examples of business plans other clubs have created and used with success.

Councillor Phil Mould, whose portfolio covers leisure, said: “It is important that clubs have a business plan so they know what they are trying to achieve and make sure they are going in the right direction. An effective business plan can help you to manage your club more effectively but also demonstrate business understanding and control to potential investors. I hope plenty of local sports clubs will get involved with this workshop and make use of the free, invaluable advice which is available to them.”

The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 6 in the Council Chamber at Redditch Town Hall between 6pm and 8pm.
