REDDITCH businesses are being invited to attend a procurement networking event next week to help them find out how to do business with public sector organisations.

The corporate procurement team for Redditch Council and Bromsgrove District Council is organising the event with the aim of helping local businesses find out more about public sector purchases and encouraging them to network with representatives of other organisations attending.

Procurement staff from both local government and other public sector organisations will be on hand to answer questions.

Just some of the organisations attending and exhibiting at the event include: Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust; Worcestershire Business Central/Find it in Worcestershire; Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust; Improvement and Efficiency West Midlands; Wychavon/Worcester City/Malvern Councils; Wyre Forest Council and Federation of Small Businesses

This event builds on previous, highly successful events sponsored and organised by both councils due to their commitment to assist local companies in winning more business from the public sector.

Carmen Young, procurement officer for Redditch Council, said: “Our local businesses are extremely important to the economy, particularly during such difficult economic times. This event is extremely useful as it will help businesses to make the most of what is available to them and build new relationships with the public sector.

"More than 70 businesses have already responded to attend the event making it good for private networking too.”

The event will be held on January 15 from 10am until noon at Bromsgrove District Council House.
