New Year's honour for Alcester Male Voice Choir's Judith Land

JUDITH Land, founder and musical director of Alcester Male Voice Choir has been named in the Queen's New Year's Honours list.

Mrs Land is being awarded the British Empire Medal for her services to music and to the community in Alcester and Redditch.

The award is given to people for meritorious civil or military service worthy of recognition by the crown, and it comes as the choir celebrates 40 years of performing together.
