A MAN who tried to rob two people in a Redditch park has been warned he faces jail.

Josh Grinnell, aged 22, of Byron Road, Redditch, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Monday, December 16 where he admitted to two counts of attempted robbery.

The court heard that on July 27, he tried to rob a man and a woman of cash and their mobile phones while in Morton Stanley Park.

He was granted conditional bail while a pre-sentence report is drawn up, and will return to be sentenced on January 8.

Judge Robert Juckes QC told Grinnell the fact he was on bail now was no indiction of the final sentence.

"Plainly, these are serious offences which cross the custody threshold, and that is the kind of sentence you should expect," he added.
