MATCHBOROUGH Youth Forum (MYF) has successfully bid for County Councillor Divisional Funds to hold its annual Christmas luncheon for elderly people.
The event, on Thursday, December 19, will see 80 senior members of the community invited, including some of MYF members' own grandparents
MYF leader and Matchborough councillor, Juliet Brunner, said: "I'm thrilled that we were able to get support for this popular annual event. The young people having been planning for weeks and are looking forward to hosting it."
Redditch mayor, Councillor Wanda King, will be guest of honour alongside Worcestershire county councillor Joe Baker, who gave funding to MYF.
A special request has also been sent to the North Pole and it is hoped Santa will make a special appearance to give well behaved guests a Christmas gift.
