REDDITCH'S Abbey Hotel proved the perfect venue for a top disabled golf tournament.
The hotel's course hosted the recent 2013 yourgolftravel.com Battle Back Golf Championship.
The prestigious event is considered the third Battle Back Golf major of the year.
Golf’s unique handicap system allows the golfers to compete on a level playing field. The competition saw Lofty Taylor, with a score of 37 points, announced as the 2013 yourgolftravel.com Battle Back Champion.
For remarkable development throughout the year, Maj Bernie Broad was awarded the most improved player of the year.
Another event the following day allowed for the cobwebs of the previous night’s festivities to be blown away and rounded up the golf for another year.
Chief technician Keith Davies, from the RAF, who took part in the event, said: “Whilst the direction of my life has much been dictated by doctors and consultants over the past few years, Battle Back Golf and events like these have provided a very welcome distraction from my condition."
