Help The Little Bag Company during its fundraising week
1:30pm Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in News
AS October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Little Bag Company has teamed up with Breakthrough Breast Cancer to raise much-needed money.
People can show their support by popping into the Redditch store, in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre from Monday, October 28 until Sunday, November 3.
The shop, which sells bags, as well as fashion and hair accessories, is holding a ‘Wear It Pink’ week during this time, when employees are ditching their usual black uniform in favour of the bright pink colour symbolic of breast cancer charities.
They will have collection tins and will be encouraging shoppers to donate small change to the charity, there will be Breakthrough Breast Cancer hair elastics and Target Breast Cancer pins on sale with 100 per cent of the money from the sale going to the charity. They will also be supporting ‘The Great Pink Bake off’ by hosting a cake sale all week.
A company spokesman said: “Anyone who has visited one of our stores knows we are a girly store, so what better charity to support than a ‘girly’ charity.
“It is such a common disease; I don’t think there’s a single person out there who hasn’t either been touched by the illness or know of someone that has.
“Breakthrough Breast Cancer is such a worthwhile charity that not only funds research but also increases awareness by educating women on the signs and symptoms of the disease early on. We are delighted to be linked to such a charity and able to involve the local community to help us fundraise.
“Each of our branches are in competition to see who can raise the most money so if you want your Redditch store to triumph then make sure you show your support.”
