Footpath diversion in Church Hill North while flood alleviation work takes place
4:10pm Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
A FOOTPATH diversion in Church Hill North, Redditch, is now in place to allow essential flood alleviation works to be carried out.
The footpath, along the rear of Latchford Close, is being improved and raised to help prevent flooding of nearby properties when it rains. Works are expected to take until the third week in October.
Until work is completed the footpath will be closed from its crossing with Church Hill Way to where the footpath branches off towards Merse Road, approximately 470 metres. An alternate route has been arranged along the pathway that runs behind Loxley Close and up to Impney Close.
Head of Environmental Services, Guy Revans, said: “These essential works should help with local flood risk. Sorry for any disruption while we carry out this job, we’ve pointed out a diversion because it’s not possible to both rebuild this pathway and keep a route safely open.”
Sings have also been erected on the footpath during the closure.
