INKBERROW Young Farmers will be stretching their green fingers next month when they receive a collection of trees to plant from the Woodland Trust.

The Young Farmers’ tug of war team put in a request for the trees to help brighten up their training ground on Oak’s Barn Farm, and their Free Tree Pack is due to arrive at the beginning of November, ready for planting.

The current chair of Inkberrow Young Farmers, Jess Sykes, said: “Wayne and Sue have hosted the Inkberrow Young Farmers Tug of War Team on Oak’s Barn Farm for the last three years and this is a great opportunity for us to put something back. The trees will be there as a lasting legacy for many years to come”.

The tug of war team applied for the saplings through the Woodland Trust’s Free Trees scheme, which is giving away everything from the spalings required to grow a hedgerow or copse, to enough trees for an acre of land.
