A MAN threatened his ex-girlfriend's brother with violence, waving a hammer at him during an argument, a court heard.
Robert Jack, aged 34, was due to stand trial at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday, October 2 for possession of an offensive weapon and common assault, but instead he pleaded guilty to an alternative charge of affray.
He had already pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to having a bladed item in public, on the basis that it was a pair of three-inch-long scissors he had put in his pocket and forgotten about.
The charges relate to an argument which broke out between Jack and Adam Norman, the brother of a former girlfriend, on February 18.
The case was adjourned and Jack, of Lodge Road, Redditch, was released on conditional bail while a pre-sentence report is drawn up.
He will return to court to be sentenced on October 21.
