8:20am Thursday 3rd October 2013 in News
A MONTH long exhibition in a Redditch town centre church will provide an opportunity to view 42 breathtaking panels of embroidery, painting and mixed-media, which took the artist two years to complete.
Emmanuel United Reformed and Methodist Church is delighted to be hosting the exhibition of acclaimed artist Sue Symons’ work. The exhibition will run from Tuesday, October 8 to Tuesday, November 5.
The Rev Stephen Levett, minister at the church, said: “The event is free of charge to anybody wanting to come and see these stunning works of art. We look forward to welcoming people for what we hope will be a feast for the eyes and also help us to reflect on the beauty of creation, and our own place within it.”
The artist has turned to the text of the Genesis account of creation for inspiration, The work was completed in the summer of 2009 and is now held in the care of the Bible Society.
Due to the ongoing work of the Bible Society’s arts team, Ms Symons’ work is now able to be displayed around the country as a celebration of the crossover between art, the Bible and creation.
