YMCAs in Redditch and Worcester merge to form YMCA Worcestershire
3:00pm Wednesday 2nd October 2013 in News
REDDITCH and Worcester's YMCAs have recently announced a successful merger between the two charities to form one organisation to help extend its services to young people and their families across Worcestershire.
The two organisations started to explore the benefits of merging some time ago to help extend their services across the county with the aim of delivering integrated services that cover the whole area, while keeping their local identity.
The two organisations, now named YMCA Worcestershire, finalised the merger earlier this year.
Duncan Berry, chief executive Officer for YMCA Worcestershire, said: “We now have one overall structure across the county which has enabled us to have the flexibility and diversity to offer local services that young people need in their communities.
“This has been a huge achievement for the two organisations and we look forward to continuous improvements and growth.”
Operating across the county, the YMCA delivers three nurseries, two supported housing units, general needs accommodation, four community centres, education provision, schools’ work, community café, youth recreational services, along with many volunteering and work placement opportunities.
