Give your health an MOT with free services in Redditch and Bromsgrove

MYTIME Active has announced the launch of free new health services aimed at helping Worcestershire residents detect health risks and quit smoking.
Drop-in clinics, which will be located across Redditch, Bromsgrove and Kidderminster, will offer specialist services, including Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) for smokers and NHS health checks which will involve a cholesterol test and blood pressure assessment. Advice as well as information on local healthy living programmes will also be provided by the Mytime Active team of healthy lifestyle specialists.
Mytime Active was commissioned by Worcestershire County Council in April 2013 to deliver lifestyle services in the region including NHS community health checks and stop smoking support.
The services were officially launched earlier this month with health checks being provided by Mytime Active at the National Careline 50+ and Retirement Road Show at Kidderminster Town Hall.
Anna Skeats, Mytime Active senior manager, said: “The NHS health checks offer a great opportunity for people to have a quick health MOT. Those that are eligible can have their BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose checked by specialist staff. The teams are then able to offer support and guidance about the results and sign post to appropriate local lifestyle services”.
