THE funeral of a driver who died following a collision on the outskirts of Redditch is to take place next week.
Rebecca Flay died after her black Volkswagen Lupo was in collision with a yellow Peugeot 307 on the B4083 Studley Road, on the border of Worcestershire and Warwickshire, at about 8.20am on Monday, September 9.
Rebecca and her sister Stephanie, aged 22, both sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where Rebecca died on Friday, September 13.
Stephanie is still recovering from her injuries at the hospital.
The funeral of Rebecca, known as Beckiie, will take place at Studley Parish Church on Wednesday, October 2 at 12.45pm, followed by committal at Redditch Crematorium, which will be attended by close family and friends.
There will be family flowers only and donations in Rebecca’s memory can be given to the Trauma Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, with cheques made payable to Redditch funeral directors Thomas Brothers.
Rebecca was a former pupil of Studley High School, and had gone on to study beauty therapy at NEW College in Redditch. She worked part time at Tesco Express in Studley and Boots in the Kingfisher shopping centre in Redditch.
Her family said she was a beautiful daughter and sister, a dearly loved and special granddaughter, niece and cousin, and would be missed and remembered by all her many friends.
