THE family of a 20-year-old woman who died following a collision on the outskirts of Redditch, have paid tribute to their “little cherub”.
Rebecca Flay was driving with her sister, Stephanie, aged 22, on the B4083 Studley Road, on the border of Worcestershire and Warwickshire, on Monday morning September 9.
The pair were in a collision with a yellow Peugeot 307 and were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries.
Sadly Rebecca died of her injuries last Friday afternoon.
Stephanie has been moved from critical care on to a ward, and her condition is improving.
Rebecca, known as Beckiie, was a former pupil of Studley High School, and worked part time at Tesco Express in Studley and Boots in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.
Her parents, Charles and Dawn Flay, from Studley, said: “Beckiie was very much loved by everyone who came into contact with her, and always had a smile on her face.
“She was so full of life, always helpful and caring in every way possible from her very early school years growing up in the village of Studley, and then attending NEW College in Redditch to study beauty therapy. Throughout Rebecca was very hard working, giving her all - always 110 per cent.”
They added: “Rebecca was our little cherub and grew up to be a beautiful and stunning young woman.
“Rebecca has filled her family and the hearts of everyone in the local community with many pleasant memories that will live on forever. Her main aim in life was to give joy to others, especially her family and friends.
“She will be sadly missed by all who came in contact with her from her very early years to present day.”
The driver of the Peugeot, a 23-year-old woman from Redditch, was treated at the nearby Alexandra Hospital in Redditch for whiplash injuries and shock.
