Award for Greenmech chairman
12:10pm Friday 6th September 2013 in News
THE chairman of Alcester-based groundscare company Greenmech has been named as one of three winners of the Innovator’s Award at the 2013 Heritage Awards.
Tony Tuner was presented with the award at an event organised by Service Dealer magazine at Windsor racecourse in front of an audience of groundscare experts.
He launched the company in 1963 to manufacture and sell a flail hedge and verge mower, which he had designed himself, called the County Hydramower.
Greenmech has now acquired the Mill Industrial Park as a manufacturing base, branching out into wood chippers and green waste shredders over the last 20 years.
He said: “I am overwhelmed and delighted to receive this personal award; it was such a wonderful surprise especially as it was conferred via a public vote through the groundscare industry. It is the County Hydramower that I am most proud of.”
