The art of modern storytelling in Victorian London, in Redditch
5:40pm Wednesday 4th September 2013 in News
EVERYONE loves to be told a good story whether it is in the form of cinema, theatre or a page turning novel.
But with all of today’s instant pleasures the skill of live storytelling has all but been lost.
The storyteller that can grip us with tales of suspense and intrigue through their use of vocabulary and performance skills is rarely seen or heard.
Andrew Meller stands out in this world of instant visual gratification as a raconteur par excellence.
He will be performing at the Palace Theatre, inviting people into the study of 221B Baker Street for the retelling of some of Sherlock Holmes’ most celebrated cases.
Sherlockian characters seem to spring from every part of the room as people are promised a night they will never forget.
An Audience with Sherlock Holmes is on Saturday, September 14 at 7.45pm at the theatre’s cosy and very apt venue The Room Upstairs.
Tickets can be purchased for £10 from the Palace Theatre box office, in person or by telephone on 01527 65203.
To book online or for further information, visit the theatre’s website redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk.
