Website to apply for 2014 school places is now open
7:30am Tuesday 3rd September 2013 in News
WORCESTERSHIRE County Council's website for applying for school places is now open for applicants starting school in September 2014.
Anyone with a child aged three or over who is not already in school, needs to apply for a school place. For the last two years parents and carers have been using the online portal which is now even more easy to do.
The county council said it knows that going to a new school is a very important step for parents and children and wants to ensure as many children as possible get the place they want.
Once again the council is asking for all applications to be made using the online portal. The online application process is quick and easy to use and ensures applications are made on time and without the need to rely on post and forms filled in correctly.
To make an application parents and carers need to visit the County Council's school admissions page www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
Applicants then need to register and follow the online instructions to make their application. All the information needed is available on the website.
Once the application has been made applicants receive an email acknowledgement that it has been received. On ‘offer day’, rather than wait several days for the post to arrive, the offer is sent electronically so it can be read immediately.
Applications for September 2014 must reach the county council by January 15 2014.
To help parents make up their mind about which schools to apply for, information about Worcestershire schools can be found at www.worcestershire.gov.uk or in the local school directories.
For anyone who isn't able to get online at home, the council’s libraries and hubs with computers are available, and a list of school admissions sessions will be announced throughout the year for parents and carers who need an extra helping hand.
