Community day for Church Hill is a great success
10:00am Thursday 22nd August 2013 in News
A COMMUNTY day held in Church Hill recently was a huge success.
Lots of local families went along and enjoyed all of the free activities including face painting, nail art, bouncy castle, penalty shoot out, obstacle course, and a visit by the animal man, so people brave enough could hold a snake, owl or other interesting animal.
People also got to enjoy candyfloss, popcorn, and a delicious pig roast.
Many local parter agencies had display stands so visitors could pick up a variery of useful information. In attendence was the local police community support officer, MacMillan, Sure Start Stop Smoking Service, Redditch Children's Centres and Big Local - which is currently asking local residents how they would like a sizeable amount of money invested into the Church Hill community.
Save the Alex campaigners also attended the day, getting people to sign up to the campaign. They also provided the music.
An event spokesman said: “There was a fabulous and happy atmosphere. It was great to see so many local families come along to meet us all and it gave them a great opportunity to see what is going on in the local community.”
