Join in the fun at Woodrow this Friday

WOODROW’S annual community fun day this Friday is taking on a special importance with the official re-opening of the local library.
Woodrow Library, just off Studley Road, was closed for three months, reopening on Monday, August 12 to reveal new lighting, heating, windows, furniture, book stock, meeting room, toilets with disabled access, baby changing and refreshment facilities. It has also been merged with Redditch Borough Council's One Stop Shop.
On Friday there will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 11.30am on Friday, August 23, and the library will throw open its doors to kick off the celebrations.
People coming along to the fun day can expect to find painting lessons from local artist Steve Pound, graffiti art sessions from Marek Popiela, a bouncy castle, face painting, gardening tips, and taster sessions in a whole host of skills including sewing, jewellery making, and crafts.
There will also be information stalls from local organisations.
The day is part-funded by county councillors Andy Fry and Pattie Hill through their Divisional Funds.
Steph Edkins, Woodrow Library manager, said: "The community fun day is always one of the highlights of our year, but this time round it's even more special as it also celebrates the re-opening of our fantastic new-look library.
"All involved with the refurbishment have worked so hard and we're all looking forward to welcoming people from the community over the coming weeks and months. Everyone is invited on Friday to come and join the party."
