This they accomplished in fine style with a maximum 10-0 victory over visitors King George VI B.
Brilliant winners for Alcester were Ken Craddock (21-3) and Trish Barry and Ken Harvey (both 21-6).

Renny Bannister was the only Alcester winner at 21-13, to give Alcester a single point against the hosts seven.
In Division Six, Alcester B entertained Wootton Hall B in a match of topsy-turvy results.
Alcester produced three crushing winners in Margaret D’Elia (21-2), and Ken Craddock and Red Masterson (both 21-4), but had to concede a heavy 6-21 reverse. The outcome was a 28 shot victory for Alcester, who gathered five points.
