6:00pm Thursday 15th August 2013 in News
THROUGH the magic of satellite, the pomp and splendour of Last Night of the Proms, at the Royal Albert Hall, will be beamed directly to the big screen at Studley Village Hall on Saturday, September 7 at 7.30pm.
With a programme of wonderful music and song, the Studley audience will be able to participate fully, soaking up the atmosphere and fun of this evening without all the hassle and expense of travelling to London.
Flags will be provided to wave during the second half but, if desired, people can bring along their own to add to the occasion.
Song sheets will also be provided, as will a traditional fish and chip supper, a delicious dessert, and tea and coffee in the interval - all included in the ticket price. Alcoholic drinks are not included but guests are welcome to bring along whatever beverages they choose for the evening.
If concert-goers wish to come along dressed for the occasion - either formally or informally - they are welcome to.
Tickets, costing £13, are on sale from Carol Johnson on 01527 857249 or Anne Rolfe pm 01527 852678.
Doors open for the event, which is being organised by Studley Daytime WI, at 7am.
