A MAN who had a brief relationship with a 15-year-old girl has been locked up for six months by a judge at Worcester Crown Court.
Tyler Vallance, of Engadine Road, The Oakalls, in Bromsgrove, pleaded guilty to sexual activity with the girl and inciting her to engage in sexual activity.
William Rickarby, prosecuting, said Vallance was 19 and the girl just over 15 when the friendship began and he bombarded her with texts and gifts.
Sexual activity took place in the bedroom of his parents' house although her mother had made it clear that all sexual contact was forbidden.
Abigail Nixon, for Vallance, now 20, said there were only two incidents of sexual behaviour and they were both with the girl's consent. He had mental and physical disabilities and came across as a 10 year old.
Vallance had been upset by a domestic incident and was seeking solace. It was clear that the girl was very much in love with him and was expressing it in the messages and telephone calls.
Judge Daniel Pearce-Higgins QC said it was an unusual case and it was clear that the defendant had physical and mental problems. There was evidence that while his victim had been persuaded, she had not been coerced or threatened.
He imposed sentences totalling six months custody and ordered Valance to sign the sexual offenders register for five years. He will also be barred from working with children.
